Subaru's Five Year Plan Promises Exciting New Models and Safety Innovations

Subaru has big plans for the coming years, with a plan to launch four new models over the next five years.
The new models are a key element of a new five-year business plan, called Motion-V, announced in early July. The two vehicles that are known to be coming are the Toyobaru sports coupe- the rear-wheel collaboration with Toyota debuting in 2012, and a hybrid based on the Impreza or Legacy platform sometime in 2013.
The Motion-V plan also calls for Subaru to boost its yearly global sales to 900,000 by 2016. They hope that much of that growth will come from the U.S., and are making plans to boost fuel economy across the board by an average 30 percent.
Safety features are also part of Subaru's master plan. The organization says the upcoming five years should bring security features and environmentally friendly technologies never ever seen before on a North American Subaru. That includes New EyeSight, a stereo-camera system for accident avoidance. The system utilizes a pair of cameras, each mounted at the top of the windshield on either side of the rear-view mirror, to detect objects approaching the car to warn the driver of a collision. Should the driver not react and the vehicle gets within 60 feet of a collision, the car will apply more stopping power and bring the car to a halt.
Subaru buyers have much to look forward to, but for now, check out the Subaru models that are currently available at Tom Wood Subaru, your Indianapolis Subaru dealer, click here. To see pre-owned inventory at Tom Wood Subaru, click here.
